American Akitas vom Wächterberg

Joshiro 2010

25th September

Hello, finally, finally, we are online again! These were dreadful 2 weeks to be cut-off by all! But it has been over since today and now, finally, I would like to report in detail about Joshi!!! Our small puppy does really well. However, did I say small? Joshi has grown a lot and has also become heavier. Now I already groan a little bit when carrying him up the stairs. His little ears have raised too and he suddenly looked completely different, just like a real small Akita.

Most people we meet think he is a Chow-Chow or an Elo!!! A few weeks ago a young girl said, look there runs a wolfhound! It is really adventurous what one can hear from people. And what certainty, it is too delightful!!!

We were at the vet last Friday! He was absolutely courageous and had no sign of fear! Maybe it was because of the tasty paste, that he got there! The veterinarian is very pleased with him! The testicle cannot be felt yet in the scrotum, but in the belly! We should wait a little bit, approx. 1 year and if it has not come down till then, it must be operated! We will have checked it from time to time.

Feeding is great and he never leaves anything;-)! He still gets 4 times per day 50 grams! He is generally a small vacuum cleaner and one of his dearest places is under the high-level chair of Jonathan! There something falls down now and again and if I am not quick enough, he is very happy about that! But we are also surprised and glad that Joshi eats so wonderfully!

Tomorrow at 09.30 we are again at dog school! And there is no reason for a complaint too! On the contrary! After our first hour where Joshi has massacred all puppies, and the owners took their puppies only on the arm, we have found in the next puppies hour the perfect group for him! The puppies there are on an average 2-3 weeks older than him, also the owners are normal and not afraid;-)! We have a good trainer. She explains Joshi's behaviour to the other dog holders why he does something and that some of his reactions are typical of this breed. But also in the play with other puppies he has learnt something! Joshi has become more careful and does not bite any more so steady in everything what moves. Now he is able to do certain orders like SIT and STAY! When calling him he runs to us as fast as he can, even if the other puppies are around him! At our city training Joshi was the only dog that has mastered everything perfectly! I was quite proud of our small hoodlum J! We go 2 times per week with him to the dog school! Jan trains on Mondays, I on Saturday! It is a lot of fun and brings us a lot and Joshi seemsto be well-balanced after every dog school day.

Of course, Joshi is sometimes able to do differently! He gets this weird look and seems to say! You can do what you want, I do not come yet! Then he must run his rounds before he comes to us! Indeed, these attacks are still rare and controllable!

Joshi and Julius this is meanwhile a quite thick friendship! Where Julius is also Joshi would like to be! In the flat, and outside anyhow! Thus the both discover together the woods, find mushrooms, or cross a stream! Where Julius is, the adventure is not far for Joshi! Julius is not so frightened of barking dogs since we are in the dog school! About that we happy of course! And Jonathan seems to think Joshi is a gigantic soft toy, he laughs whenever he sees Joshi! You see, we are completely happy with him!
Have a nice weekend .
